Laura Trombley's Bio:
Laura Trombley is the eighth president of the Huntington Library, Art Collection, and Botanical Gardens, and the first woman to ever assume the position. Trombley has made strides in education management and academic research; she is frequently recognized for her emphasis on women's leadership and involvement within these two niches.Laura Skandera Trombley has authored five books, two of which were based on author Mark Twain. Trombley is a premier Twain scholar and her book Mark Twain's other Woman stirred up some of the most inspired conversation and debate in the humanities in recent years.Trombley served as the President of Pitzer College for 13 years. She drastically improved the college's national ranking and selectivity and also put it on the map as the #1 Fulbright Scholar producer for years. In 2015 Laura Trombley herself was appointed by President Barack Obama to the J. William Fulbright Foreign Scholarship Board.
